Why are educational inequalities in Sheffield so deep? How have residential inequalities, urban history and struggles over education politics played out to shape Sheffield's educational system? Sol will draw on research and his own experience of schooling in Sheffield to start a conversation and looks forward to hearing from contemporary students and teachers about their own experiences of education in the finest city with seven hills. Sol is a sociologist of education at Durham University, a Universities and Colleges Union activist and co-founder of Abolish Eton/Labour Against Private Schools.
