Join Sheffield Transformed for a free day-long event to imagine and discuss how we might use land collectively to live happier, healthier, and more sustainable lives.
NOTE ON TICKETS: This event is now sold out. If you have booked one or more tickets and one or more of your group can no longer attend, please contact us immediately on sheffieldtransformed@gmail.com so that we can reissue your ticket to someone on our waiting list.
Land is fundamental to everything we do. Our ability to access housing, work, leisure, food, public services and nature is determined by who controls the land we live on. Understanding who owns land is crucial to understanding how our society is structured and functions.
Throughout the day, we'll consider how current systems of land-ownership reinforce inequalities and fail to meet social needs. The event will be split into four sessions that will highlight the link between access to land and social, racial and class inequalities.
The sessions will also be a chance for those interested in land justice to link up and organise. Together, we'll discuss how we can challenge privatised land-ownership and consider how we might use land to better serve the common good.
Free vegan dinner and refreshments will be available.
Admission is free but do please consider making a donation if you can afford to do so. All proceeds from donations will go to the invited speakers and participants who made this event possible.

Accessibility:
There is a wheelchair ramp at the chapel entrance. The most accessible route up to the chapel is via Sandford’s Walk (Montague Street entrance). The Cemetery Road entrance and the short cut through to the chapel does include uneven ground, cobbles and steep paths, so we recommend the route via Sandford’s Walk. A map can be found here: https://gencem.org/venue-hire/the-samuel-worth-chapel/
For Blue Badge parking information, please email marketingandevents@gencem.org.
There are two toilets in the venue, one of which is accessible.
There will be a PA system in place to amplify speakers. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide a BSL interpreter for this event.
If you have any concerns or questions with regards to accessibility, please contact us on SheffieldTransformed@gmail.com
